Is There Love in Islam? (Part 2)

   In part 1 of this article, someone asked me the following question: “Can the word for ‘love’ be found in the Qur'an, and how many times?” Of the 82 times, 18 of them are negative as in the case of “Allah does not love,” and the other uses for the word “love” in the Qur’an do not even once command people to love as we understand love in the Bible.

   We read in the Qur’an that Allah does not love the transgressor. Allah does not love the vandal, the vandals, or vandalization. Allah does not love the sinful infidel(s), the unjust, or the proud. Allah does not love when people speak of evil aloud.  In Qur’an 4:148 we read: “Allah does not love when you speak of evil out loud, except to the one who was treated unjustly. And Allah was hearing, knowing.”  Now, if someone speaks of evil quietly or thinks of evil in his mind, will this be okay with Allah? 

   Allah also does not love the betrayers, any traitor infidel, the arrogant, or the arrogant boaster. These are the people in the Qur’an that Allah does not love.

   In simple words, the Qur’an assures Muslim readers that Allah does not love sinners with these types of sins. Amazingly, the Qur’an does not say that Allah does not love liars, especially when we know that Mohammed encouraged Muslim believers to lie. From the hadith, M ...
