Brave Hearts

   Three years of training were over. Their faith had faltered. The time had now come for the assigned mission to be fulfilled.  What was at risk was life itself. As their Master had chosen, so would they. These were the chosen disciples of Jesus.

   Empowered by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) they came forth to carry on Christ’s mission. He was alive! Salvation was the gift He shared. The world needed to know this Gospel good news.

   With bravery and boldness these passionate disciples began to preach to the lost. Pentecost was the chosen, pivotal time for Christ’s church to have its beginning (Acts 2).

   The Jewish leaders faced a challenge. The Jesus’ movement was not over. It had new life through these vocal disciples. At the first “show down” the ruling Sanhedrin was silenced — “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13).

   Warnings had no effect. Imprisonment held no impact. These disciples, who had “been with Jesus,” like His church — were unstoppable! Brave were the hearts of these dedicated men and women!
