I asked, “Are all people equal in value?” One of the men, named Willis said, “No, not at all! We are treated as ‘less than’ because of the color of our skin.” I replied, “I didn’t ask if others think you are valuable, but do you think you and every other human being are equal in value?”
As we continued the conversation, he told me he gets his morals from culture and society. I’m thankful that I asked him about where he got his morals from because it exposed the foolishness in doing so. I went on to explain, “So you think that society and American culture is discriminating against you because of the color of your skin and that you are looked down upon? Yet you get your moral standards from the same people?”
