Edifying, Adventurous, God-Honoring Stories For Teens

   Hello readers!  My name is Mary Elizabeth Boyle, but you can call me Liz.  I’m very excited to join the WCN writing team! 

   I’m a Wisconsin native who spent a few years in South Dakota, but I brought my husband and children back to the land of milk and maple syrup.  Speaking of children, I’m a homeschooling mom who also writes novels for Christian teens. 

   Why write novels for Christian teens? you ask.  Numerous studies have found that fiction readers are better problem-solvers and have less stress than non-readers. Several years ago, I read a contemporary novel that was full of adventure, friendship, and adrenaline. I liked the story, but I couldn’t get over the lack of God in the book. I wanted to find enjoyable novels that exemplify Christian morals. It was then that I noticed the need for more Christian novels for the middle-grade and young adult audience. I believe that novels can potentially convey as much meaning as a sermon, and since the characters are relatable, the message is memorable. Readers will recall the steps and lessons of the characters, and so the novel serves as a role model.
