When we are raised in a “Christian” family, often times, the “Jesus” who we are raised to believe in has the name of “Jesus,” but none of the expectations of the “Jesus” of Holy Scripture who requires us to “deny yourself,” pick up the cross and follow Him; that those who genuinely LOVE Him will KNOW AND KEEP His commands and that our OBEDIENCE is HOW we show our love for Him. The “Jesus” of Holy Scripture teaches us that we will have trials, tribulations and we WILL be persecuted. We will put God FIRST “in everything,” including our own parents and children. We will OBEY the “Law of Christ,” putting God first and loving our neighbors AS ourselves.
And then Jesus warned us that only a “few” are on the narrow way — it will be very difficult — and, again, only a “few” are labourers; “doers” of God’s Word, not “hearers” who so deceive themselves. (James 1:22).
First of all, how many children do you know who have done or are doing this?
How many adults do you know who are doing this? Honestly? Are YOU even doing this or would you fall into the above scenarios?
