The Greatest Promise

   The promises of God have motivated me for many years to keep pressing on. Joshua said at the end of his life that “not a single promise of God had ever failed.”  (Jos. 23:14).  David meditated on God’s promises through the night. (Psalm 119:148). Peter said that through God’s promises we can participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world caused by evil desires. (2 Peter 1:4). Solomon said “not one word has failed of all the good promises God gave through his servant Moses.” (1 Kings 8:56). There are many Scriptures that talk of God keeping all of His promises and we can put full confidence that He will keep all His promises to us as well. An outstanding realization is that God keeping His promises does not depend on our actions or character but on His character.

   One of the first promises I grabbed onto, when I turned from my sin with porn, was that God would go before me, be with me and never leave or forsake me.  (Deuteronomy 31:8).  That promise is on all our product labels, from maple syrup to fresh asparagus. It is the name of our farm and business. “God’s Promise.” In twenty-nine years, not one of God’s promises has ever failed me personally.
