Evangelism, Discipleship, and Casting Out the Strongman

   Bob Dylan is rightly acclaimed as a musical genius. His songs have created a muscial tapestry of events, moods, and emotions for the last 60 years and counting. 

   One of Dylan’s many classic songs is titled, “The Times They Are A-Changin.” Here is one stanza:

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’ 


   The times have indeed changed from my youth in the 1960s. War has come to America. It is a war of attrition; a long, slow, and painful destruction of America as a free and liberty-minded republic.

   As a pastor for 24 years and a Christian for 38 years, I have watched the Church’s response with varying degrees of frustration, shock, and anger. I have experienced all these emotions as I’ve watched the Church withdraw from this war, compromise its very identity, and slide into the rotten cesspool of apostasy, thinking that its appeasement toward evil will somehow enable it to survive.
