Prayer Protocols

   “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”  (Jude 3 NASB).

   One of the greatest blessings Jesus gave us during His earthly ministry was to teach us how to pray effectively. He showed us how to pray and get results.

   Webster’s New World Dictionary defines protocol as “the code of ceremonial forms accepted as correct in official dealings, as between heads of state or diplomatic officials.” So what does that mean? Do I have to pray in “Thee’s” and “Thou’s” to have my prayers answered? NO! But there are protocols in the court of heaven that must be followed if we want our prayers to be heard and answered.

   There are different protocols or rules in prayer just as there are different rules in sports. There are different rules or protocols that apply to each sport.

   What would happen if the quarterback tried to bounce the football like a basketball player is required to do? It would be absolute chaos. The offensive team would never be able to advance to a first down, let alone score a touchdown.
