Unmarried & Pregnant

Q: Ive really messed things up. Im 21 and single and pregnant. My boyfriend and I are regular church goers, and were very embarrassed by what has happened. I havent told my parents yet, because I just found out last week. We were going to get married someday, but not this soon, and we dont want people to think we had to get married either. My best friend says I should just get an abortion quietly, but I could never do that. I wish I had someone to talk to, but Im so ashamed. Im even too ashamed to pray, and I feel like theres nowhere to turn.

Being regular church goers, unfortunately, does not necessarily protect us from brokenness and sinful behavior. Hopefully, being a regular church attender does open our hearts
and minds to doing Gods will in our life. Sadly, however, not everyone is a doer of Gods Word, many are only hearers. Some people delude themselves into believing that if they are a good person and attend church regularly, they are OK with God. Unfortunately, I guess, that is just not true. Scripture informs us that we show our love for God by obeying Gods commandments, not by attending worship or doing other religious acts that are not borne out by behavior that honors God. In other words, we have to walk the talk.
