Should Christians be involved in politics? The answer is a resounding Yes!
Many people today think that man controls his own destiny; that we are the ones that put our leaders in place.
The Book of Daniel in the Bible paints a different picture. Daniel 2:21 says, And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.
John 19: 10-11 says, Then saith Pilate unto Him, Speakest thou not unto me? Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against Me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
As Christians and Believers in a democratic society, we have a responsibility to help to elect Godly leaders - we can be a part of what God is doing in our world today. Proverbs 29:2 tells us, When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. And Proverbs 14:34 says, Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
The Bible also instructs us to PRAY for our governments leaders so that we can live peaceful lives. I Timothy 2:1-3 says, I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;---For kings, and for all tha ...
