First off lets try to figure out just what prayer really is. We might describe prayer as bein a direct link to the very ears of Almighty God. Unlike our cell phones of today which often fail tp get through or we sometimes get cut off smack dab in the middle of our conversation, prayer is the only perfect wireless communication.
Prayer is also quite unique in another way. Lets say you called a friend or relative on the telephone to ask them for something that you needed or to tell them something important. When they answered the phone, and you began to talk, suppose they already knew exactly what you were gonna need or say!
Thats kind-a the same situation when we pray to the Lord. Accordin to Gods word, He already knows our need. Matthew 6:8 says, Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.
If thats the case, why do we need to pray at all - whats the point? If God knows our need why doesnt He just meet it without us having to ask?
Even though God does know our need and His desire is to meet those needs, it is the prayers of believers that literally move the very hand of God in this world. James 4:2 says, Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
