God's Plan for Women

Woman was the crowing point of Gods creative work. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof, and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man. (Genesis 2:21-22). Woman was not created of the dust of the earth like man was. God has a purpose for this special creative act. He has a particular function for women to serve in life. There is nothing second-rate about womans place in Gods plan. She has a place of high honor when she discovers Gods plan and fills it.

When God made man, He gave him characteristic traits that we call masculine. The woman is quite different, and we call her characteristics feminine. God brought them together in matrimony to blend their characteristics and in that union, you have something very beautiful and complimentary.

However, sin entered the picture and destroyed at least some of the beauty. Out of the ugliness of sin we see competition developing and the complementary relationship diminished. Sin carries a sad history no matter how you look at it. It is sin that keeps men and women from realizing the potential that God gives us. Marriages cannot be all they ought to be because of sin.
