When Making Decisions

  God does care about the decisions we make.  His will for us is to make wise decisions that will please Him, like who we marry, how to serve people, where I should work, go to school and how do I handle relationships?  The next time you need to make a decision (not necessarily what color shirt should you wear), here are questions with scriptural principles to help guide you.  These questions are a compilation from years of teaching young people plus a few insightful questions from Christian leaders who have made wise decisions. 

   In your personal spiritual life, will the decision bring glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1)?  We should demonstrate His glory through what we experience.  His will is comprised of many little obedient acts.  Will I be proud of this decision at the time of the judgment seat (Romans 14:10-12)?  How will my family, my spiritual journey, serving Christians and contentment be affected by this decision?  Is this a decision Jesus would make (1 Peter 2:21)?  Is God’s desire more important than my own?  What are my motives for making this decision (Luke 22:42)?  Will it increase my love for God (Matthew 22:37-39) and will it deepen my knowledge of God (Philippians 4:8)?
