Struggle With Doubt

   Do you struggle with doubt?   “Is God real?  Is God really good?  Does He listen to me when I pray?  Did I say the right things when I prayed asking Jesus to forgive me of my sins and come into my life?”  These are just some of the questions that entered my mind in times past and certainly possible still in my faith journey. 

   Recall one of Jesus’ apostles, Thomas, had struggles with doubt (John 20:24 – 29).  After rising from the dead, Jesus appeared to the apostles, minus Thomas.  Thomas would not believe the other apostles when they told him this.  He emphatically told the apostles, he would not believe that Jesus had physically risen from the dead until he could put his fingers into Jesus’ wounds, which Jesus allowed Thomas to do the next time Jesus appeared to all of them. 

   There are times it is definitely not easy to believe, especially with all the voices bombarding our minds saying there are many ways to heaven, Jesus is not the only way, science disproving this or that and more information flooding your brain cells from more sources than ever before (for example, internet and cable television).  Add the fact that there are high levels of biblical illiteracy among Christians and it is easy to understand there are doubts.
