Making an Impact with Prayer Time

Its just the right thing to do, recognizing that its Almighty God in charge, not us, as we seek to glorify Him in all we do, said Scott Kolpien, executive director of the Waupaca-based Impact Publications.
Impact Publications, Inc., isnt so much a Christian company, as it is a company full of Christians. Its with that focus in mind that Impact employees hold a daily prayer time.
The companys 10 full- and part-time employees are encouraged to participate in the voluntary prayer gatherings, which are typically held around mid-morning. Dan Waid, one of Impacts customer service representatives, coordinates the prayer requests.
Prayer requests that have similar subject matter are put together in lists, Waid said. For example, we have prayers for healing, people who have lost loved ones, daycare facilities going out of business, etc.
In a day and age in which freedom from religion is more the norm than freedom of religion, Kolpien said its important that all businesses, not just Christian ones, promote prayer in the workplace. People too often separate their work lives from their prayer lives when the Bible says that we are to pray unceasingly and at all times, Kolpien said. We dont always pray unceasingly the way that we should at Impact, but daily prayer times are a step in the right direction.
Kolpien and Waid reminded Christians that God honors persistent prayer. Currently, three people we have been praying for that have cancer are in remission ...
