Humble Submission to the Lord

   “If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

   Recently someone asked me, “as a minister what is your message to the Church?” I did not have to think long, because it seems I have one resounding message for the Church, and for the lost alike. Jesus is Lord, we must repent of our sins and turn to Him. For the body of believers it seems that without realizing it, my message is one of repentance. Perhaps that is because it is not my message, but the Lord’s. 

   We live in a time that is unparalleled in the ability to disseminate information to the masses. Why is it that there is so much content that we have access to, yet we still seem to suffer from failing to daily read God’s Word? Maybe the deluge of information is actually part of the problem as much as it is a potential solution. Perhaps we are inundated with so much content that we lose focus on what is truly important. I dare say we suffer from a level of apathy within the Church, along with rampant carnality. Heaven forbid we strive for the standard of holiness we are all called to by God and the Bible, least we be hit with the stick of legalism by an apathetic and outspoken group of believers.
