Christmas -- The Birth of Jesus

God, “Why would You have Your Son to be born in the manger of a barn when You created the whole wide world?”

I think this “bed of hay” — out of the sight of evil — was a natural setting of God’s Creation for His Son to be born in!  Outside of this setting was the inn, where evil men produce filth and wallow in it.  A world filled with the most grossness of sin; people all living like the prodigal son, in a pig sty, too filthy to bring His Holy sinless Son into.  A world, an inn of people, calloused by sin, and so heartless, who would one dark, evil day, crucify His Son!

God’s judgment of the flood of Noah’s day, and Sodom and Gomorrah in Abraham’s day, seemingly had no effect on turning men from their evil, disobedient ways.  Surely by sending His own precious Son with love, mercy and grace will soften the hard heart of man?  I guess not.  There still is no room in the inn; no room for Jesus in this world.  We put Him back in the stable, so that we can live our own wicked ways in the inn.

Time is running out.  Judgment is nigh at hand again.  Will we be like the shepherds and the wise men of old and receive Jesus as they did, the Son of God — or perish in our sin and folly?

Have a REAL Christmas this year.  Repent and receive God&rs ...
