What Life Do You Live For?

   “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21 KJV).

   This past year of 2020 has taught us many important lessons. Thanks to COVID we can see that many of us have been living a double life, as if we suffer from a kind of spiritual schizophrenia. What I mean by that is that we have one life which we profess as believers, but we walk in a way that is contrary to that faith. I will not place myself in a position to judge the hearts of man, however we can certainly judge the fruits, more specifically we should judge our own fruit. We are commanded in Scripture, “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12 KJV).

   I would highly encourage that we each take some time this new year to reflect upon our spiritual health and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

   You can argue all day as to whether COVID is a plague brought by our adversary or by God Himself.  Regardless of what we think,  God is sovereign and nothing catches Him by surprise. Very often the things the enemy uses to bring about our destruction, God allows that He might use the trial to strengthen our faith in Him.
