'Do This in Remembrance of Me' (Part Two)

   What is the New Covenant? and, What is its purpose since it was given to the children of Israel? This New Covenant is first mentioned as a New Covenant in Jeremiah 31:31-35, shortly before the captivity of King Zedekiah taken into Babylon.  “Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel, and with the house of Judah:  Not according to the covenant that I make with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.”  That covenant ‘I will be your God’ as promised to all mankind since creation as stated in Genesis 9:8-10, 16, and again stated in Revelation 21:7.  But, “My covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith the Lord.” The covenant, as spoken of in Leviticus 26:9-13, “For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish My covenant with you…  And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be My people.  I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bandsmen: and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you to go upright.”
