What Must I Do to be Saved? Do I Simply Recite the 'Sinner's Prayer,' or is There More to it Than That?

The path to salvation is as unique as there are individuals. Yet the process that is necessary is essentially the same for everyone from the Christian Biblical perspective. There are many Bible passages that lead us to understand what this process is. Let us review just a few of them to gain an understanding of how this process works.
John the Baptist gives us the first step that is necessary for us to be saved. He warns the people, including the religious leaders, to repent of their sins. He calls them to confess their sins, turn away from them, and be baptized as a sign of wanting to be cleansed from their sin. He then orders them to live a life of service to others and to obey the Ten Commandments.
In John 3:17 we find the secret to Gods plan for salvation. John tells us that God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn the world but to save
it. So we understand that Jesus is the Savior of the world (of human kind).
How does Jesus bring salvation? By assuming our sins, freeing us to receive
the gift of eternal life with God in Heaven.
In the I am sayings found in John we hear Jesus say that He is the door (John 10:7-9) through which we enter to be saved. He also tells us, I am the resurrection and life, I am the way, the truth and the life, no one enters into the Kingdom except through Me. (Jesus).
Paul also tells us that every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:11). Thu ...
