1 John 4:1-3, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”

Ephesians 6:10-12,  “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

We wonder why our politicians, and other people in this world say and do what is against God’s Word. God tells us to test the spirits to know if they are from God. We do this by acknowledging that if God said it, it is true. God’s Word is His revelation to all mankind for how we conduct our lives and how we should think about everything there is. God’s Word is not just for church, but for every human being on this earth.

Every subject you listen to on the news or read on some website has information. It is either God’s viewpoint or the devil’s and demonic. Either God made it His way, or demons are lying to you and saying, “did God really say that?” It was the first lie to Eve and continues to be the lie of demons today.

The people who oppose God’s Word are opposed to God Himself, period. God said life starts at conception, Psalm 139. God said He created them male and female, Genesis 1. God made all the laws we live by, Romans 13. God hates chaos, Proverbs 6:16-19. Psalm 119 says God’s ways are perfect, and they are — because He is a perfect Creator and Savior.

It makes me shake my head in wonder that people in America, who at one time in this country grew up with Christian principles, could ever vote someone into office that opposes God’s truth, which He has clearly said in His Word. Now I know and you know there is no perfect man or woman that keeps God’s Word and demands God’s Word in the political world. But what about common sense Christian thinking from us who call ourselves born-again believers? We should know what God’s principles are well enough to vote for the right person. Leadership is very important. People follow leaders. Leaders make laws that either please God or oppose God. God and Jesus are sovereign over all life and everything in His world. There is nothing that God wants more for people, than that we live and think like He does.

So, if people think wrong thoughts, and thoughts lead to actions, those that oppose God’s viewpoint are listening to demons. That is why Paul said we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against rulers, and authorities of this dark world.

The question I have is, why do so many Christians not know what God says about life? We say we know Jesus, but do we know what He says? Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. In Genesis 1, He created the world, and this universe just the way He wanted to. Yes, mankind fell, and we all have sinful natures, but Jesus saved us from the world and its philosophies, and the devil lies.

Jesus told us He has overcome the world.  Let’s start lining our thinking up with His truth. Whatever we think will result in our behavior and actions. John 15. Paul said we have the Spirit of God and the mind of Christ, so take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. People — know what pleases Jesus Christ, discern what His will is and live accordingly. May God’s Spirit give you Jesus’ desires for you.
