What You Always Wanted to Ask Your Pastor but Were Afraid to Ask

My wife and I recently left a church because of conflict, rumors and gossip. We were very happy at our new church for several months, but now the same thing has happened here. Several families have left, and no one, especially the pastor and church board, will come out and tell the whole story, so rumors are flying around and there is gossip, resentment and anger. It seems the church leadership just wants to ignore the problem, but were very uncomfortable. I know there is no perfect church, but should we stay here or should we look for a new church home? Were at the point of not wanting to go to church at all anymore.
The biggest problem with the church is that it is composed of human beings. Humanity is fallen in nature and sinful, as a consequence. Even after people accept Gods offer of grace and forgiveness in Jesus Christ, they still fall into sin. This moral failure leads to disappointment in people as they observe what they see as unchristian behavior in others in the church. Yet, the truth is that those who have no trouble seeing the sin in others often have trouble recognizing the sin in their own life, which inevitably exists. As Jesus tells us, Remove the beam from your eye before you worry about the speck in someone elses eye.
There is no perfect church, because there are no perfect people to fill them. Our love for relativism, which is our way of saying, Im not as bad as they are, only reflects our own sinfulness.
