   Watch your own bobber!

   A while back, a friend of mine shared a fishing tale with me about a conversation she’d had with her son while they were fishing. 

   So to make a long story short, along with permission to share this story, here’s the hook of her tale to the best of my recollection…

   One evening while the two of them were fishing, my friend’s son said to her, “Mom, I love you, and know you to be a fine Christian lady, but it seems to me that as of late you’ve become somewhat preoccupied with how other folks are fishing!  And if I may say so, without hurting your feelings, quite critical of them with your comments. Now it also seems to me that it might be in your best interest for you to watch your own bobber, instead of watching everyone else’s…if you really want to catch some fish.”

   I’m sure you get the rod and reel of my friend’s fishin’ story and the broad-cast of the application it contains…

   Jesus said…“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults — unless of course you want the same treatment…” And the Apostle Paul said, “If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore them, saving your critical comments for yourself ...
