Dishonest 'Christians?'

I am a mechanic by trade, and I often have Christian friends come to me with their car troubles. I enjoy helping them, but recently I did a big job for someone at a reduced rate, saving them hundreds of dollars, and now they are taking forever to pay the bill. This has happened more than once. It seems people hear the word Christian and think it means free. Im getting to the point that I dont want to work for Christians anymore, because this happens a lot. Any advice?

Unfortunately, in this world, there are many people who claim to be Christians, but their lives reveal something else. The Christian loves and supports his brother and sister in Christ. The Christian, above all others, must live a life that reveals his/her integrity. It is precisely because many people who claim to be Christians live an inauthentic lifestyle that the unchurched dismiss the church as having no relevance to them, and the churchs members as hypocrites. I suspect you, in your work as a mechanic, have been taken advantage of at times by inauthentic people who believed that they could use your commitment to your faith to their advantage.
We find in Matthew 7: 21-24 Jesus teaching on the subject of what a true disciple is. Jesus is clearly making the point that just sounding religious or acting religious will not guarantee anyones salvation.
