It’s All In...The Family!

   As we look across the Fruited Plains these days it would appear that things aren’t going so well, amen?  Lots of division, tension,  head butting and plenty of hate to go around, plus crime, injustice, lying, cheating, name it and if it’s bad, Americans seemingly want to claim it. 

   So here’s something we might want to consider. It is said that, “as goes the family . . . so goes the nation.”  If so, then are we not getting close to the root cause of our problem; especially if you take an honest look at today’s American family where we find, in too many cases, a dangerous lack of commitment?          
        
   In today’s modern family, for example, we find close to half of all marriages ending in divorce. Now we shouldn’t find this surprising given that each spouse is entitled to a “get out of jail free card,” aka “no fault divorce.” A situation where spouses already have one foot out the door even as the marriage begins.

   That is if young Americans decide to get married in the first place, which brings up yet another recent and growing trend with more and more “couples” choosing to just “live” together – no “get out of jail card” needed here. Sadly many of those uncommitted to the ideal of marriage also have little or no desire for children, leaving America as a nation without an inheritance to carry on our traditions.  Much like what happened in the Roman Empire.

   Then, of course there is spousal and child abuse, often complicated by the latest  “woke” marriages, ‘de hombre a hombre’ or ‘de mujer a mujer’ if you will. The latter problematic same-sex marriages being an unnatural, 21st century diversity experiment with no apparent regard to its effect on children.

   Then there are the amazing numbers of single parent homes.  A situation where a child is denied unfettered access to both parents and where more often than not we find the State as the “Sugar Daddy.”

    So let’s stop here for a moment and consider this:

   If we lived in a nation that honored the family as designed and supported by the “laws of nature and nature’s God” — we’ll call it the Natural Family —  how different would things be in today’s America?  

   Let’s take that one step further. What would happen if we also started  celebrating the aforementioned Natural Family on an annual basis, let’s say between Mother’s day and Father’s day and on a National basis?  How would that affect your family, community and ideally our nation?  How would that affect the way other nations looked at us?

   Would not the following “naturally” start to happen?

• Abortion and Divorce rates would drop significantly, likely getting rid of No Fault Divorce while crippling the abortion industry in the process.   

• Respect for authority would go up and crime would then go down.

• Unnatural/experimental Marriages  . . . out the door

• We would become a more unified nation

    Lots of folks these days point an accusing finger at the church; so what happens to the church if the families become more stable? . . . Yep.

   Pick a subject, find a problem and you’ll more than likely find some sort of  a broken family, guaranteed. We believe it is high time to start treating this root  cause rather than the many symptoms. But how do we even start?

   With the certain knowledge that “as goes the family so goes the church” and “as goes the church so goes the nation,” our Natural Family Foundation initiated an annual Natural Family Celebration starting on Mother’s day in May and ending on Father’s day in June.  This will be the third year since we cast this vision and it has grown ever since to include churches in several states and most recently with the State of Idaho likely to be the first state to make  an official proclamation on behalf of this great American Tradition.  We’d love to see our new President make it official as well . . might want to keep that in mind this November.
