Chinese Forced Abortion Opponent Chen Guangcheng is Ill, Collapses -- Urgent Medical Condition

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 20, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Women's Rights Without Frontiers has received credible reports that Chen Guangcheng is seriously ill, and other members of his family are languishing as well. According to one report, Chen's second elder brother died of stomach cancer on the Chinese New Year/Spring Festival on January 23. Chen, his wife and mother were not allowed to attend the funeral. A few days later, according to a report by CHRD, Chen was seen to take a few steps in the courtyard. "He looked pale and moved unsteadily. Only a few steps out of the door he fainted and fell to the ground."


Clergy Declare State of Emergency for Churches Over Obama Demands

The National Clergy Council, representing church leaders of Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox, and Protestant church traditions, has declared a State of Emergency for the Churches in response to the order by President Barack Obama for religious organizations to compromise their religious and moral beliefs by complying with a mandate to provide employees with certain forms of insurance coverage.

After a very nice December and most of January, I was beginning to think winter was not coming to Romania this year. All my hopes of a snow-less winter were crushed under the weight of a huge blizzard that blew in over the last weeks.  After my language classes finished in Bucharest a few Friday’s ago, the roads were closed and it took a long time to dig out the car – but all is well, and I’m back home now.
