Please explain the significance of Communion and how you do Communion in your church.

The Lord Himself gave us the example for Communion at the Last Supper in Matthew 26:26-28... And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body. And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Communion was one of the ordinances of the early church as well, as found in 1 Corinthians chapter 11. The Bible sets no particular time or schedule for observing Communion - it just instructs us to do it in remembrance of Jesus and honoring His sacrifice.
Many churches observe Communion on a monthly basis but there are some who partake more often. We at the Ole Country Church observe Communion on a monthly basis, normally the first Sunday of the month. At our church, Communion is open to everyone - BUT the Bible has some instructions for us before we partake. First of all, the Bible warns against taking Communion lightly or unworthily - it is serious business, as in 1 Corinthians 11:27, Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
