With the economic situation that we all face, keeping our budget intact can be very difficult. Camps, churches and other religious organizations must work at raising funds and finding new partners to help support their ministries.

Spencer Lake Christian Center is no different. That is why once a year we have a golf tournament. It is held the first Monday of every June and is held at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake. It is a time of fun, food and fellowship. It is a time for us to say thank you to our supporters and to give a report of what is happening at SLCC.

On Monday, June 2, 2009, SLCC held its annual Spencer lake Classic. It was a beautiful sunny day with the temperature in the 70s. The Woodland Course is a real challenge with its ponds, trees and sand traps. One hundred and forty four golfers enjoyed a great round of golf and an awards banquet afterwards. We had two flights of golfers and so we had two first place teams and two second place teams. We also gave away at least one prize to every golfer and provided them with a great meal.

We raised over $8,000 for Spencer Lake through the 144 golfers and the various sponsors that we had. A number of local businesses and vendors contributed toward the expenses of the tournament.
