Spiritual Refreshment

We live in a fast pace world filled with anxiety and fears. People losing their jobs and their homes, the cost of living going up, and of course, the health care issue, are just some of the concerns we all face.

Yet, we have more conveniences today than any time in history, but we seem to have less time to spend with our families, friends and most importantly, our Heavenly Father.

So what is our role as a Christian Camp in such a world? The Bible tells us that from time to time Jesus went to a mountain or desert alone or with a small group of disciples to pray and recharge. As Christians we need to spend quiet times with God also. Psalm 46:10 tells us to Be still and know that I am God.

Satan is a master of getting us to focus on those things that will prevent us from finding true peace. When Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, he had steady feet until he took his focus off Jesus (Matthew 14:30). The same thing happens to us and our guests that come to SLCC.

At Spencer Lake Christian Center, we are blessed with a beautiful location that allows individuals to get alone with God and focus on Him instead of what is happening in our world. Along the lake we have several locations in which people can sit and view Gods creation.
