Moving To The FutureWith The Future

Its been a while since I could sit down and work on my articles. (Its been a while since I could sit down and work on anything, actually.)

God has been doing some amazing things at Crescent Lake Bible Camp and we have just completed one of the biggest years of ministry camp has experienced in years. God is good!

Ive spent this summer working with youth (and adults) of all ages. One of the highlights of my summer, though, was when I had a chance to sit down and talk with one of my summer staff and a friend of his who was volunteering for the week.

These young men are both exceptionally talented, remarkably mature and are focused, heart-and-soul, on serving Christ. Also, they both mentioned that they are relatively new Christians.

(I will admit, listening to them and seeing their enthusiasm made me a little jealous.)

Why does it seem that the passion for serving Christ dies out as we get older? Why do more mature Christians struggle to get excited about God, when those who are new in Christ are on fire to change the world?

I will admit that Ive had days when Ive wanted to walk away from ministry and just do something normal. However, the reason I continue moving forward is because of the people I have the honor to work with; people who I firmly believe God brings into my life to teach mesomethingnew about Him.
