An Autumn Reflection

As the colors of autumn fade and the final leaves fall to the ground, I find myself taking a deep breath as I explore the beauty of Gods Creation. The work of the year is coming to a close, the fast-paced days of summer are slipping further into memory and it is time to rest. While that might be wishful thinking on my part, it seems that Creation is slowing down, pulling in and readying itself for winter.

This time of year brings with it a reflective kind of mood, when the beauty is so intense, it is impossible to step outside without encountering the awesomeness of our Lord. There is so much in our natural world that reminds me how I am but one small piece of this amazing place our loving God created. Then I remember that I am the reason He created this world and suddenly everything becomes like a gift hidden in the riot of colors in the forest, peeking out from under the crackling vegetation, or gliding by gathering berries for dinner. Creation comes alive in my silence, and I am aware of my gratitude for such a moment.

One of the goals of Crescent Lake Bible Camp is to bring people closer to God. Through a partnership with the Northern Lakes Impact Center, we are able to bring local students to our camp to explore and experience the beauty of Creation.
