Faith to Move Mountains

In Matthew 17:20 we read, And Jesus said unto them...verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
As far as we know, throughout all the following centuries, no one has had faith enough to move a mountain. Does this mean that not one Christian in history has had the faith of a mustard seed, and if so, what hope is there for us?

First off we need to understand that Jesus is using the Mustard Seed as an illustration to show us just how far a little faith will go in the Kingdom of God. Jesus used the example of the Mustard Seed on five occasionsMatthew 13:31, Matthew 17:20, Mark 4:31, Luke 13:19, and Luke 17:6...each dealing with the issue of faith.
If we look at Matthew 13:31-32 it says, He put out another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; which indeed is the least of all seeds, but when it is grown it is the greatest among herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.
