Jim Nichols is Currently Serving a 69 Year Prison Sentence for the 2007 Shooting Death of Cha Vang

My name is Jim Nichols.  I am 34 years old and I was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  I am now serving a 69 year prison sentence for Second Degree Intentional Homicide, in which I have only served less than six years.

   My childhood was very interesting, and full of severe hostility issues.  My parents divorced when I was 8 or 9 years old, and it wasn’t too much longer that I was in foster care.  The first three placements also included a couple of forced trips to the psychiatric hospital for being a “violent sociopath,” and having “an obsession with death.”

   My teen years weren’t the greatest.  I still had many issues over the obsessions from my childhood.  It was just now compounded with being a teenager, and the problems associated with that, including drinking, drugs and sex.

   You might wonder if I knew who Jesus was during this time in my life.  And yes, I did know who He was, but He wasn’t my friend or Savior.  I couldn’t care less about Him.  But now, I know that was just Satan working in my life.
