How Much Do I Really Love?

   For whom are you willing to die?  An even more difficult question to consider is, For whom are willing to give up your salvation?  Jesus did say, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13). 

   Consider Moses and Paul, two of the greatest spiritual leaders in the Bible.  After Aaron and his fellow Israelites produced the golden calf, Moses made the statement,” “…Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. But now, please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.” (Exodus 32:31-32).  Paul took commitment one step further, “I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.” (Romans 9:2-4).

   Let those statements sink in.  Reread them.  Who are you as a leader willing to die for?  Who would you be willing to give up your salvation..forever?  Paul, Moses and Jesus set the bar very high as far as how we are to treat and view others, including those we have responsibility to as leaders.  Moses was the leader of the people when ...
