Relationships at Home

   Qualities of a spiritual leader are what we have been looking at over the past couple of articles.  Being humble and blameless is what has been covered so far.  How a spiritual leader handles or deals with people is extremely crucial in God’s Kingdom.  This should be obvious but unfortunately, this is an area of neglect.

 Ministry is relationships.  There is nothing more important to Christianity than relationships.  Salvation is a result of our relationship with Jesus because of what He did on the cross and in the grave.  He did all the suffering because of His love for us.  God reconciled us to Himself through His Son.  In 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, we are exhorted, called to have our relationship with God restored, to be changed from being enemies with God to adopted children of His.  That is all about relationships.

   Recall how Paul described the relationship the Thessalonians and he had (1 Thessalonians 2:5-12).  He used parent illustrations to share how gentle like a mother and the way a father treats his children in his relationship with the Thessalonians.  Paul and his disciples share their lives with the people, toiling among them, pursuing being blameless as they lived their lives in front of the church.  That is all about relationships.
