Relationship with God

  What is the most important component in being a spiritual leader?  You do need to be competent, developing skills on how to lead others and have a clear, developing understanding of the organization or group you oversee.  But the aspect that makes the difference between the spiritual and leader is the spiritual, one’s relationship with Jesus.  I am stating the obvious but if it so obvious, why does it need to be stated and just as equally, why is not a growing relationship with Jesus the top priority with every believer in Christ?
   Jesus, the greatest leader ever, was both man and God on earth.  Yet Jesus consistently made connecting and developing His relationship with the Father, His top priority.  “So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.  For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. …I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.”
   Jesus never did anything that the Father did not lead Him to do.  That is having a deep, intimate relationship with the God of the Universe.  Where is our relationship with Him?  Is it growing, developing or moving along like a flat tire?  Or is it not moving at all? ...
