Limits

   It is emotionally and spiritual healthy to be willing to admit that any of us is without limits.  Our bodies break down when we do not place boundaries or limits on what we can do within the time restraints of life.  Solitude can help develop boundaries.  Romans 12:3 stresses the importance of having a right perspective of yourself of who I am and what I realistically can accomplish to remain effective for God’s work.  As part of the body of Christ and having been created in God’s image, each of us has gifts and roles to perform, working as a team with the other members of the body to do God’s work.  Doing too much makes what we do become ineffective, even though we may look very spiritual to other Christians.  
   Asking yourself why you may be more irritable or restless than normal or why is your anger so quickly flaring up, is important to know what is going on inside.  These are symptoms that left unchecked will cause issues or problems in the future.  If we do not exhaust nor destroy ourselves, we can obediently follow and finish the race God laid out for us, just like Paul.  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.  And now the prize awaits me -- the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return.
