Bella Medical Clinic looks to inspire you on May 1, 2014 to promote change. Changes in your life and more importantly changes in the lives of those facing unplanned pregnancies. Mary Catterton will share a powerful message dedicated to the faithful sharing of God's word. Singer, songwriter and speaker Mary draws on scripture, life experience, and person witness. She offers people opportunities to discover their personal and corporate callings.
Since 1993, first as a maternity home and with the conversion to the medical clinic we have worked to develop relationships with Churches, Schools, County Services, other non-profits and Medical Clinics throughout the state. In doing this we work in a collaborative effort without duplicating services allowing all of the organizations to be more productively promoting changes. Since January 1 of this year we have referred 132 patients/parents for additional services. In turn these agencies/non-profits refer their clients to our programs. The need continues to grow for Sexually Transmitted Disease testing and treatment, and as funding allows that is a goal for the clinic to provide. Our staff is ready and willing for the training to provide this service.
At Bella there are two overriding needs: The first is for those choosing to parent, are parenting skills and the second is for baby supplies. One of our very successful programs is the “Earn While You Learn Program.” This is not only a life changing program but support system for first time parents during pregnancy and through the baby's first year. These programs includes classes on everything from how to bathe their baby, manage a budget, prenatal care, labor and birth and how to put a care seat in correctly. There are over 200 classes available ministering to the spiritual, physical and emotional individuals training and equipping them with necessary life skills for God-honoring socially competent living.
Other programs offered at Bella Medical Clinic include those encouraging sexual integrity, post abortion recovery and working with grandparents. Working with local medical facilities childbirth and labor classes are also offered.
Getting a positive reading on a pregnancy test can be one of the most exciting news any can ever receive. But it can also be one of the most frightening. In many cases, if a teenager, or anyone is not prepared to deal with a pregnancy much less a baby. The goal at Bella is simple, When a woman is considering ending her pregnancy, Bella wants to be their first point of contact. If she comes in our door first.....the chances of her considering to abortion center diminishes rapidly as we help break down the difference between the baby and the crisis.
As a very special surprise at our event a very generous anonymous donor has funded the showing of the award winning film Crescendo! On February 28th, a short film that has been globally heralded and has won over 11 international awards will be screened at 100 events. This will be one of those!!!! This film was produced by the producers of Bella, our name sake!!!!
Crescendo is a powerful short film that screams volumes for the cause of the pro-life movement. The message of this film is simple yet very inspiring - what if something small can be something great?
Crescendo is set in the 18th century Germany and begins with the main character of the film painting a vivid picture of her bleak existence by using music a metaphor for her life. She begins by telling the viewer that life is like a symphony, but that some of the notes are sour. The films language is German so there are subtitles, but not distracting. It is hard to watch the first minutes if the film as it is dark, but the ending is one of the most hopeful and inspirational pro-life endings. As a film Crescendo isn't really Christian .....it is a pro-life film.
This proves to be a very powerful evening. Mary Catterton with the message of change and the inspiration of Crescendo that reminds us that the smallest of things can become the greatest. A timeless tale that will speak to many choosing life.
