Family Fun This Fall!

HARVARD, Il.
Complimentary Story

The smell and taste of hot cider, pumpkin pie, and apple cider donuts are a quintessential part of Fall in the Midwest.  Every family has their special Fall traditions as well.  If your family is looking to build a new tradition, Royal Oak Farm is the perfect place to start.  With their 16,000 apple trees and acres of pumpkins, Royal Oak not only offers pristine produce and beautiful grounds, but they offer a wonderful place for families.
When you finish walking the orchard and picking your apples straight from the trees, you can head in the restaurant for a wonderful meal, like their wonderful breakfast buffet on Saturday mornings.  Next, you can head into their large gift shop and bakery and find lots of tasty treats like their apple cider donuts, carmel apples, or yummy fudge.  Take your time browsing through their spacious shop filled with seasonal gifts, food, cookbooks, and much more.  On a beautiful fall day, take time with the whole family to explore their Entertainment Area filled with playground equipment, petting zoo, carousel, and trackless train for the children to enjoy.
Royal Oak will be open in the evenings on Fridays, and Saturdays through the end of October.  Come late or stay late to enjoy a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, evening hayrides, extended apple picking times, and rides for the children.  There is nothing like a hot cup of cider on a chilly Fall evening, and what better place to enjoy it than at Royal Oak Farm admiring the trees it came from.  Royal Oak will also be open on Sundays this season to expand your apple picking times in September and October.
Whether young or old, everyone always has multitudes of questions about Royal Oak’s operation.  Our specialized tours offer a fun way to hear interesting facts and information about the orchard while riding on their unique covered wagons pulled by antique John Deere tractors.  Many different packages are available for school age children (field trip opportunities), as well as, the young at heart, with our special Senior Tours.   Visit their website for a full list of tours or call the office at (815) 648-4141.  Tour slots fill up quickly, so call early!
With so much happening at the orchard, make sure to check out their Facebook page for daily happenings of What’s Pickin’, What’s Happenin’, and What’s New.  Keep your eye out for special deals and fun photos from the Fall as well!
Royal Oak Farm is open through November 15 for the 2014 season.  Check the website at www.RoyalOakFarmOrchard.com for hours of operation, available picking information, and special event information.  We hope that we can bless your family the way that God has blessed ours.
