When We All Get to Heaven

   When we all get to heaven... what a day of rejoicing that will be!  I guess most of us, those who are reading this message, have sung that hymn many times, thinking, ‘yes, it will be wonderful!’  But did you ever think of what you will be doing forever? There’s not really a lot said about what you will be doing.  Yes, we will be worshiping the Father, and Jesus, but what else?  Please remember, I’m not a preacher or theologian and I ‘m not trying to go there.  I’m just a sinner saved by grace and trying to help others on the journey there and also take a few more there with me.
   Now most of my Christian walk, I’ve been involved with “others,” but not focusing on the rest and eternity.  Maybe now that I’m about to turn 80, I’m thinking more about “forever.”
   You might have had the experience of being “swept” into a crowd, now aware where the crowd was going until you got there!  Well, I guess that’s what this message is all about.
   After my first visit to Pacific Garden Mission in 1977, my life took a direction I wasn’t prepared for.  “Others.”  Like I wrote about last year, it was like a visit to a “foreign country.”  New, exciting, more than I could have ever expected.
