Christian Philosopher Dares Skeptics to ‘Stump’ Him

GREENWOOD, Wis.
  Christian philosopher and apologist Dr. Anthony Horvath of Athanatos Christian Ministries has challenged people to find a reasonable question about Christianity that he cannot offer a reasonable answer to.  Amazingly, he’s putting his money where his mouth is.
   “I will give you $5 on the spot if I cannot give you a good answer to your question,” Horvath says.
   Horvath is involved in Christian apologetics.  ‘Apologetics’ does not mean saying you are sorry over and over again.  It is derived from an old word that meant ‘legal defense.’  Christian apologetics, then, is the defense of the Christian faith, usually on intellectual grounds.
   The dare is part of the arts and apologetics festival that Athanatos Ministries is hosting in Greenwood, Wisconsin this August.  To make your attempt for an easy five dollars, you need to attend and go to his booth at the time scheduled for taking questions.  Judges will be present to ensure the questions really are reasonable.
   “You’re not going to win five bucks by asking me what the third letter of the fourth word of the fifth chapter of the book of Ruth is,” Horvath says.  “That would be lame.  But if you tried, maybe the judge would say you should pay me, because of course the book of Ruth only has four chapters.  Not five.  Nice try.  Than ...
