Uttermost Ministries, From Wisconsin to Uganda

   I first met Pastor Hosea Nelson Kyasooka in 2005.  He had come from Kampala, Uganda on one of his regular trips to raise support for his church there. I was leading an adult Sunday school class that morning at church, and was unaware that I was about to meet a man who would lead my heart to a mission field, and lead my ministry to a place I had not imagined either would go. 

   As I watched him come into the class, dressed in a suit and carrying his well-worn Bible under his arm, I felt challenged to really know what I was teaching and sharing. As he spoke for a few minutes during the church service later that morning, his limitless faith in God became obvious to me. Looking back now, I realize that God was “knitting” my heart to the heart of this man, to his heart which desired fully to serve the very God who created it. I had no idea where this all would lead, but God did. He had a much bigger plan than just a chance meeting with a pastor from the other side of the globe.

   On his next visit, Pastor Nelson brought his wife, fondly called “Mama Sarah” by their congregation. My wife and I invited them to our house for a meal while they were here in our area. Though I didn’t understand everything that Pastor Nelson said, due to his heavy Ugandan accent, I was very intrigued by what he shared.
