A Call to Stay on Course

Hebrews 12:1-2 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The Bible compares our Christian life to a race. The course is straight if we run according to Biblical instruction. We must keep our eyes on the reward at the end of the race.

Jesus Christ is our shining example of staying the course. Jesus endured the cross, despised the shame, and ultimately was set down at the right hand of God’s throne.

We, who have decided to follow Christ, want to live a life that is pleasing to Him. We live in a fallen world in which Satan will throw one obstacle after another to disrupt the course of both new and seasoned Christians alike.

The warfare from Satan can take the form of intimidating and demanding threats from the LGBT agenda to accept their perverse ways. One threat is either submit to its agenda or be sued and lose your livelihood.

Another obstacle used by Satan is through the teachings of the Quran also known as “the religion of peace.” The Quran says there will be peace when all the infidels (that’s us) are under Islamic submission or slain. The worldwide terrorist coalition consists of Muslims who adhere to the Quran.

Then there’s the inter-faith coalition that says “let’s all just get along” all the while turning their back on Christian Doctrine because “doctrine divides.”

The good doctrine in Proverbs 4:27 says “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”

Evil is when ecumenicalists say there are many roads to heaven when they are actually putting people on the road to the Lake of Fire. They want to have Christian unity. They just don’t want Jesus Christ mentioned.

Just as the ecumenical movement wants unity in the religious arena, the globalists want unity in the world arena. No individual governments or borders or rights. They want, or will force, everyone to participate in a worldwide commune.

The globalists want a one world government with no worship of the true God. The globalists are not concerned with individual rights such as the right to practice our Christian faith as provided under the United States Constitution. Globalists are, unanimously, non-Christians.

Christians should be alarmed at what the LGBT movement, the Islamists, the inter-faith coalition, and the globalists want from us. We are expected to submit to their demands.

If these groups can get Christians to run off course on even one issue then they will have accomplished their goal of making Christians falter and the slippery slope begins. The world view is “let’s not hurt feelings because we all just need to get along and coexist” and “what’s yours is mine.”

It’s been said that “truth sounds like hate.” This is true when someone holds a “secular” worldview and not a “Biblical” worldview.

We must stand firm and defend our Biblical beliefs. We must be stubborn for the Word of God.

If you have fallen off course then get back up and run with more power than before.

God has given us defensive and offensive armor to guide and bolster us as we stand against the wiles of the devil. “Wiles” means strategy. Satan wants us to first doubt the Word of God and then disobey it.

We are no match for him and the powers of darkness by ourselves but God has given us His armor to wear.

This armor consists in the knowledge of God’s Word, the demonstration of moral conduct, the assurance of salvation, and above all, believing God’s promises.

Even though we put on the whole armor of God it is prayer that is indispensable in this spiritual combat. We must pray for divine intervention continuously in our lives and not just when we are under attack and not just for ourselves.

We must keep our mind on the Lord at all times. We are filled with the Holy Spirit so we must listen as He guides us through the landmines of life.  As Paul told Timothy we must continue to live our lives as instructed by the Scriptures.

Put on the whole armor of God. Pray continuously. Study and memorize the Bible. Stand firm and press on. Defend the Word of God and never apologize for your Biblical beliefs.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you!

We too shall fight the good fight, finish the course, and keep the faith just as Paul and all the other saints before us have done.

2 Tim 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
