The Purpose of the Spirit

   The Apostle Paul’s conclusion to the total gospel we find in Romans 8: 1-11.  “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.”  Those who have repented, accepting the forgiveness made possible by the blood of Jesus the Christ, cleansing one’s heart from all wrong thinking.   Living in Christ, with His mind in you (Philippians 2:5-8).   To those “who walk (in obedience) not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin (see I John 2:16) and death (see Romans 6:28).  For what the law (God’s commandments) could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh.”  

   Yes the perfect law of God could not be kept, not because of a failure of the law, but the failure of the flesh!   “God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh.”  The same physical body with all the same desire the flesh craves as we have.  “Touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15); but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin”), and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness (right thinking) of the law might be fulfilled in us (Just as was promised in Jeremiah 31:33), who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
