When in the world did it begin that we accept special interest groups’ opinions to be medical facts? I believe the answer is around the time politicians on all sides of the aisle started getting elected based on their political correctness to media, Hollywood and special interest opinion, instead of truth and what is best for the general public majority.
Although there are many issues in this category, the one bothering me most today is the question of gender identity. There is nearly no scientific evidence that exists to support gender reassignment. The American College of Pediatricians opposes any such issue. Much evidence exists to the contrary of reassignment. In 2004, a review of more than 100 international medical studies of post-operative transsexuals found “no robust scientific evidence that gender reassignment surgery is clinically effective.”
The alarming truth after gender reassignment surgery is that a patient will have a few years of reprieve but the underlying psychiatric disorders remain and return with a vengeance: 40% attempt suicide, many succeed. The report compiled by two doctors from Johns Hopkins gender clinic who performed 500 gender reassignment surgeries and cross gender hormone therapy, over 13 years, caused them to stop doing them.
