Teachers Are Needed for Vacation Bible Schools

   When Deb and I humbly accepted the director position for RBC, we spent many hours listening to and speaking with Allen and Ellen Thrall about the joys and challenges of ministry. They assured us that there would be both, but they stressed that the joys would well outweigh the challenges.  We have found that to be true. 

   One of those challenges for the Thralls was finding summer staff for Vacation Bible Schools. This has been true over the years for us also.  Now, with three of our lead/veteran VBS teachers not able to come back to teach this summer due to work and obligations for their college degrees, we are meeting this challenge once again this spring.

   Interestingly enough, just in the last month I, Joe, had the opportunity to teach Sunday school at our local church and God impressed on me to start teaching through some of the compound names of Jehovah.  And wouldn’t you know it, the first name I taught on was Jehovah-Jireh: “The Lord Who Provides.” The name means literally, “The Lord Who Sees,” or “The Lord Who Will See To It.”  We find Abraham declaring this in Genesis 22 as he obeyed and trusted God in the midst of a very hard circumstance, and he saw God provide a ram for a sacrifice. I am sure Abraham was overcome with joy and gratitude as he exclaimed, “JEHOVAH- JIREH!”
