Why The Rise In Teenage Pornography Use?

   I read an article by a well known “Christian” writer who blamed the explosion of teenage pornography use on a feminist-driven society that has somehow robbed our county’s young men of their masculinity. I will explain the rise in the use of porn with facts, medical science and my experience as a porn addict for 28 years and my sobriety of 26 years. This is not an emotional issue to be dealt with in anger or some kind of satirical humor.  It is a very serious issue that our churches and our society must face responsively and help end what is now being recognized as a National Health issue. 

   Currently, 97 % of teenage boys and 80% of teenage girls have viewed pornography.  Of college age men 87% and 32% of women use porn for sex weekly or daily. These are facts pointed out by “Enough is Enough” (campaign against pornography) and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. In the current top 50 porn videos there are 3376 verbal and physical acts of aggression, 94% acted out against women. Today’s porn is extremely violent to the point of great physical harm. Teen violence in dating is at an alarming 30% of girls being abused in their dating experiences. The college scene is worse —  to where the Department of Education has been asked to address the extreme rise of sexual assault of women on campus.
