Did you know Jesus sees in black and white? You are either for Jesus or you are against Him. This is true for every detail of our lives as Christians. We live in this world that Jesus rules from heaven. Now, of course, Jesus does not rule every person here on earth now; sin is still ruling people until Jesus comes back. So as we go into this election season, we need to understand as Christians that government, societies, relationships, everything on this earth Jesus wants to rule over. We don’t often think of Jesus’ desire to rule over everything, but He is the sovereign Lord of all created things. Creation is everyone, every institution, every government, every principle we all live by.
So how should Christians vote? Jesus said, in Matthew 5,
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
