The Bible tells us a lot about God, that His primary quality is that He is holy. God is unique in that, for one thing, He is the only TRUE God. If one were to make a list of God’s qualities and characteristics along with all the adjectives and acts found in the Scriptures, the list would be quite long. But something has happened to God in America; He has become “common.” We are told in the Scriptures to distinguish between the holy and the common. That distinction regarding God has been lost, eliminated. Why? How?
When America became known around the world as a Christian nation, every American automatically “became” a Christian. That, of course, is not true, but that is the designation given to every American citizen, whether or not he is an atheist or follower of the many false gods and idols existing in this country.
A “church on every corner” has made God common. In Israel, there was one place to worship God — the temple in Jerusalem or the tabernacle prior to the temple. The worship in American churches is as varied as the people who attend services, and doctrine followed by those churches is varied as well.
