This is What I’ve Learned... ...From a Ranch in Santa Ynez, California, Among the Fields of Gold and Grandeur of the Pacific Coastal White Oaks…

   J.R.R. Tolkien said, “All that is gold does not glitter, not all who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.” 

   I treasure Tolkien’s words, they’re golden to me. Because they reveal the true nature of God’s love for us; hidden, right before our eyes in plain sight. Throughout the natural world in all of God’s creation, gold that does not glitter abounds and surrounds us, as a testimony of His love and to His great glory, power and majesty. Jesus said, “Those who have eyes to see, will see it. Those who have ears to hear, will hear it.” And I see and hear His love all around me in everyone and everything.  Every day I’m blessed with breathe here on God’s green earth. Do you see and hear His love?

   Men have searched these California hills for generations now, seeking gold that glitters for personal and economic gain, in all forms.
